T. Reid Kavieff, D.O.

Osteopathic Manipulation / Cranial Osteopathy / Nutritional Therapy

Dr. Reid Kavieff is a proud graduate of the first class at Farmington Harrison High School in 1972.  He pursued his Bachelor of Science in Zoology at the University of Michigan and graduated with distinction in 1977, following a season of ski bumming in Aspen.  He enrolled in the School of Dentistry at the University of Michigan in 1977, but Dr. Kavieff decided to pursue another career path in 1979.  He did cancer related research at the School of Public Health, and connective tissue biochemistry research at the School of Dentistry before a series of “coincidences” resulted in him attending the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) where he graduated in 1984.  He was given the opportunity to begin learning Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) during his 2nd week in school, after passing out of several basic science classes.  While attending MSUCOM he was mentored by Phillip Greenman, D.O, John Upledger, D.O., Robert Ward, D.O., William Johnston, D.O., Myron Beal, D.O., Barbara Briner, D.O., John Goodridge, D.O., and Lon Hoover, D.O.,  Dr Kavieff was also mentored by Robert Fulford, D.O., Gerry Slattery, D.O., Muriel Chapman, D.O., Richard MacDonald, D.O., William Wyatt, D.O., Larry Jones, D.O., and Harold Schwartz, D.O. among others. He was asked to assist as a table trainer in the acclaimed OMM CME program at MSUCOM.  Dr. Kavieff was given the Fred Mitchell, Sr., D.O. Award in recognition of being the best in OMM in his graduating class.  He completed a rotating internship at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton, Michigan and a Family Medicine Residency at MSUCOM.

After working in various primary care settings, Dr. Kavieff began working in 1993 for Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan as a primary care physician with emphasis on OMM.  He established Botsford Integrated Medicine in 1994 after studying Nutritional Therapy under Dr. Jonathon Wright and Dr. Allan Gaby, and Functional Medicine under Jeffrey Bland, Ph.D. and Patricia Kane, Ph.D. and Contact Reflex Analysis developed by Dr. Richard Versandaal.  In 1996 Dr. Kavieff established the OMM Residency Program at Botsford General Hospital, and was the Director for four years.  Dr. Kavieff began private practice in 2000 by establishing the Center for Complementary Medicine in Farmington Hills, MI where he was joined by Jingfei Huang, L.Ac.

Over the next 25 years, he gradually returned to his roots in Traditional Osteopathy, and in 2025 changed his practice name to StillWorks to better reflect his emphasis on OMM.  The name is a double entendre that reflects the founder of Osteopathy, Andrew Taylor Still, M.D., D.O., and that at the age of 70, Dr. Kavieff still is working, and plans to do so for many more years like his many mentors did.
