Dr. T. Reid Kavieff celebrated the new millennium by opening the doors to the Center for Complementary Medicine in 2000. Dedicated to treating the “whole person,” with a special focus on musculoskeletal dysfunctions, Dr. Kavieff’s compassionate hands-on approach to medicine helps his patients achieve optimal wellness. With an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention, Dr. Kavieff listens to his patients concerns and designs a course of treatment to work in cohesiveness with his patient’s lifestyles. 
A 1984 graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University, Dr. Kavieff received his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Michigan. He received the prestigious Fred Mitchell, Sr., D.O. Memorial Award from Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine upon graduation. He completed a flexible internship at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton, Michigan and a residency in family medicine with the Department of Family Medicine at Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Kavieff completed the UCLA Medical Acupuncture Program in 1990 and a family medicine faculty teaching fellowship with Michigan State University’s Consortium for Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education and Training.    
His medical licenses include: Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery from the State of Michigan; and Physician and Surgeon from the State of California. Dr. Kavieff is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Special Proficiency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine, and is board eligible in medical acupuncture.  
Prior to opening the Center of Complementary Medicine, Dr. Kavieff was the founder and residency director of the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine/Family Practice Integrated Residency Program at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The doctor has served as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at MSUCOM since 1991. His academic appointments have included clinical instructor in the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine; instructor in the office of the dean at MSUCOM’s Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine CME Program; member of the dean’s select committee on curriculum review at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine; research associate in the Department of Biomechanics at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine; and co-founder and national representative of the National Undergraduate American Academy of Osteopathy. 
Dr. Kavieff has traveled the country delivering numerous lectures on osteopathic techniques and manipulative medicine. His professional memberships include: American Academy of Osteopathy, American Osteopathic Association, Cranial Academy, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Michigan Osteopathic Association, and American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
